Medical Center Operations

Medical Center Operations supports the University's health care network providing maintenance and upkeep of all Medical Center buildings and systems including critical patient care and life safety equipment.

The wide range of skilled employees in this group includes engineers, mechanics, carpenters, sheet metal workers, locksmiths, HVAC technicians, electricians, painters, plumbers, and a variety of other professional and leadership positions.

SMD Environmental Services provides support to all medical school facilities and general support areas with a full program of cleaning, maintenance, and restorative services emphasizing infection prevention.

Service Calls

If you have routine maintenance or an emergency service call for any of the Medical Center properties you should call the Facilities Customer Service Center at 3-4567. The majority of mechanics are on site between 7:30am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday with 24/7 hospital emergency support.
